About

Hi I'm Monica Barragan.

I am a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University. I am a student researcher with the Robomechanics Lab. My current project involves the development of nonprehensile terrain manipulation techniques. I have designed, manufactured, and tested various robotic manipulator’s in order to increase the performance of planetary robots manipulating the terrain around them. I'm interested in design, robotics, aerospace, and manufacturing.

About

Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles and a proud Latina. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering.

My love of building came from putting together IKEA furniture as a kid. I am lucky now to have found my passion in building, designing, and planning projects of all kinds. My interests in mechanical design and robotics stem from an avid curiosity of the unknown. I am excited to see what the future brings to these fields and would love to be a part of the team that makes it happen.

In my free time I enjoy finding new music, cooking, rock climbing, and weightlifting.
