Drinko

Drinko: Fall 2019 DIY: Design and Fabrication (24-672)

For my final project in DIY, I decided to make a drinking game inspired by The Price is Right’s Plinko. The Price is Right, Bob Barker era, holds a special place in my heart and I was excited to make something from one of my favorite games in the show.

I wanted to create a smaller version of Plinko and one that could be hung from the wall. Drinko is made from a MDF board attached to a wooden picture frame from IKEA. I laser cut the MDF board to the size of the frame and with evenly spaced holes to fit the wooden dowels. I created 5 slots with my remaining MDF that would fit a standard shot glass. I assembled all the parts using wood glue. Once everything dried, I spray painted everything. I then cut the plastic cover that came with the frame, using a plastic cutter, so that it only covered the dowels, to ensure that the bottlecap/disc would not bounce off the board.
